Gil Formats has secured a new deal with Eldorado TV in Germany for its new factual entertainment format ‘Kids in Power’, following the format recent launch at MIPCOM 2017.

‘Kids in Power’ is in co-development with South Korean leading media company, CJ E&M. It is a daring social experiment which aims to transform the lives of families in which parents struggle with their kids’ behavior.

This Parenting Format sees families reverse roles, and over a period of 1 week, the parents delegate absolute authority to children on all matters of the household: they set the rules, manage the money, and make calls on nutrition, screen time and chores.

The experiment is observed by the two experts that originated it – a family behaviour expert and a children psychologist. With insights given by the experts to the occurrences throughout the week, the experiment shows what kids truly desire and how they finally learn the weight of their parents’ responsibilities. This social experiment also makes the parents realize that they need to change going forward – giving the format big, dramatic and emotional results.

‘Power to the Kids’, the Korean original version of the format aired on CJ E&M’s flagship channel tvN and rated #1 among Female 30s, 40s, and 50s out of tvN’s weekday prime entertainment programs.
