“The German” is an international series developed and produced by Gil Formats in the last decade and will be broadcast worldwide and in Israel during 2025.

The production is carried out with the support of the American media giant “Lions Gate”, which produced, among other things, the TV series “Mad Men” and “Orange is the New Black”, which also distributes it internationally and “Yes” company that will also broadcast it in Israel.

The series is a period spy drama that takes place in several times but most of it in the 70’s in Israel and Europe and deals also with the hunt for the Nazi criminal Josef Mengele.

It stars, among others, the German actor Oliver Masucci (“Dark”, “Look Who’s Back”), Ania Bukstein, Rotem Keinan, Sarit Vino Elad, Naya Binstock and Ido Tako (“The Disappearing Soldier”).

The series is based on an original idea by Assaf Gil, the writers are Moshe Zonder (“Tehran”, “Fauda”), and Ronit Weiss- Berkowitz (“The Girl from Oslo”, “A Touch Away”), . Director: Gabriel Bibliowicz (“Night Therapy”).
