Kids in Power  is a new and original Parenting Format co-developed by Gil Formats and Asia’s leading content and media company CJ E&M.

This daring social experiment aims to transform children’s bad behavior by handing them power over how families operate for one whole week, while they are being observed by experts in child Psychology.

The format allows for families facing domestic problems to take a break in their routine that will enable parents to get an invaluable insight into their kids’ true wishes and a way to transform family life for the better.

In each self-contained episode, over the period of 1 week, a family reverses roles – the parents delegate absolute authority to children on all matters of the household: Food, money and every family rule.

In short – The Kids are in power, and the parents have to do exactly what they say.  

Role reversal is an effective technique for family conflict situations, as it forces both sides to see the other’s point of view, with dramatic and rapid results. The experiment is observed by two experts in family behaviour and child psychology, who offer insight as to what the kids truly desire.

This social experiment makes the parents realize that their kids’ bad behavior is actually a cry for help, and they need to change going forward – giving the format big, dramatic and emotional results.
