The Israel Broadcasting Authority (IBA) has ordered the factual entertainment series Capturing the Moment from Gil Productions’ newly launched formats devision, Gil Formats.

The six-episode series – set to premiere on the national broadcaster in winter 2016 – focuses on people over age 75 who share their experiences and wisdom around topics such as love, family, careers and sex. Each episode focuses on a specific subject and personal tale that is summed up by an old photo, which is then recreated by a top photographer.

Since Gil Formats launched the series as a pilot, the format has been picked up in Germany by ZDF. Details of that version will be announced soon.

The Tel Aviv-based company launched its formats development and distribution division in August. The division operates as a separate entity and develops observational documentaries, semi-scripted reality comedy, game shows and reality TV. Its catalog includes fact-ent format Life on Duty and comic game show Are You For Real.
