MAJOR EUROPEAN TERRITORIES TAKE ON SEVERAL FORMATS BY GIL FORMATS

Gil Formats, secures deals on three of its formats in key European territories just before MIPTV 2021:

Factual entertainment format, ‘Pregnant & Platonic’, was recently taken in Germany by Magis TV and in Belgium by 100000V following the broadcast of the format in the UK on BBC2 and in Finland on Nelonen.

The format, co-developed by Gil Formats with US based production company MY Entertainment, centres on men and women who are looking to have a child without getting romantically involved, through the process of co-parenting.

Factual entertainment format, ‘Capturing the Moment’ was optioned in Italy by Blu Yasmine following the recent launch of the format Greece’s Antenna TV. The format was previously produced in Spain, Germany, Israel, Czech Republic and Poland.

‘Capturing the Moment’ is an emotional format that sees individuals reveal their personal experiences and learnings around universally complex issues such as love, politics, careers and family. Each episode features inspiring personal stories captured in a precious photo, alongside elements of social history and archive footage, and culminates in the recreation of this photo with the contributor, by a top photographer, years after the original was taken.

‘Life on Duty’, an observational Fact. Entertainment format that follows characters from different emergency services and contrasts the professional lives of these heroes with their often-neglected personal lives, was also acquired in Italy by Blu Yazmine. The format previously enjoyed two successful seasons in Spain on Mediaset’s Cuatro. The format also aired in Israel on Channel 10.
