GIL FORMATS’ ‘PRANK STAR’ LANDS NEW DEAL IN SPAIN

Gil Formats’ primetime Entertainment format, ‘Prank Star’, has been picked up for local adaptation in Spain by Zebra Productions. This deal adds to current ones secured in France by R&G, and in the US by Lionsgate. The Italian version of the format launched on Mediaset’s Italia 1 in March 2017.

‘Prank Star’ is an entertainment format set in a studio that revolves around the search for the country’s best prankster.

Nationwide auditions find the funniest people who think they have what it takes to be the nation’s Prank Star. Once through the audition process, the show gives contestants specific pranks, hidden camera challenges and comedy scenarios that they must then try to pull off. The best pranksters advance to the Grand Finale, where they perform the most daring prank on the biggest scale they have ever attempted.
